Can't believe it's been almost a year since the last update. While I don't update the website
often enough, I have spent alot of time on the project. I will try to post some screenshots in
the next few days of me in the UO world from my emulator. But, they will probably look like any
other screenshot from an emulator, heh.
My networking library works although I think it needs alot of tweaking. I also, need to do some
fine tuning on the packets as many appear to be off a few bytes or so.
I will be using the 1.25.37g client as mentioned before, it really seems to work the best for
what I'm trying to accomplish.
Thanks to everyone stopping by and asking about details and status. I'll try to update this more often.
I'm juggling many different projects, school and working. Hopefully things will slow down soon.

:: UO:R Emulator Update
I have returned to coding the UO: Retro Server Emulator. I am back to school full time this fall
and winter, working towards my Game and Simulation Programming degree. I will be coding this in
C# and working to keep it Mono compliant.
My patch tool will allow me to customize the server to any client version after 1.25.
I believe the 1.25.37g client is the most stable of that era and will shoot for that. I
will try to make the server compliant to pre-t2a expansion.
I will be adding a couple other developers onto this project that have expressed an interest
in seeing this project completed and being able to play on a shard of that era and quality.
If your inerested in working on this project shoot me an email, I could use a network and packet
guru. I could also use strong C# coders and someone to work on the forum template.

:: UO:R Emulator
I have started on the coding of the UO: Retro Server Emulator. I will not be using any other
emulator for this project, instead will write the server from scratch. This way I don't have to
play with and learn anyone else's project/emulator.
It will be designed to work with the 1.25.37g client. I have now completed a complete backup
of every UO client patch. I have archived each client and the modified files from each patch as well.
I found having the client only led to problems, as the mul's in most clients don't match.
At the present I am working on this alone, while I'm not at college, sleeping, or doing my paid
coding and web projects. I will be showing screenshots as I build the emulator and build the server.
While I have explored the code from many emulators of this and that era, I will not be using any
code from any of them. I'm not out to impress any one as this is for the learning experience.
While this era server isn't unique anymore what is unique about this is the fact that I will be
using an actual old school UO Client. That means most of the current macro tools, hacks and exploits
will not work with the older client. I'm sure few folks like me remember the old exploits in the
older clients and may even have the old tools. But I will code the server to watch for and report
the usage of them. So if you're looking for Razor, PlayUO, UOExtreme usage this shard isn't for you.
There are also, many new features planning on being incorporated into the game rules and dynamics.
So while this server will be era correct, I will then branch it towards a very hardcore game play.

:: Ultima Online Emulator Archive
I am currently gathering all information, files, source and such on all Ultima Online Emulators
and Tools... I will be placing them all online for everyone to remember the roots of where it
all started.
If you have any old versions of any Emulator's or Tool's (Source Code, Binaries, Notes, Etc)
and wish to email them to me or send me a link so I may download them. I'll gladly credit you
with the contribution as I'm not worried about any notoriety for compiling this archival record.
On a side not if you have any knowledge, notes or wish to also give me any information on my
project below feel free. Lord knows I could use the help.

:: What is UO Retro?
We are going to take the game back past old school to pre-school.
I will be dialing it back, then we'll add in a few of the new school stuff as long as it doesn't
break the economy and game play. Some features of the other expansions are with merit and will be
incorporated. We will post a list of rules, features as well we may post polls for your input.
Sorry, won't be no uber-dudes, uber-loot or uber-arties. But, it will be new and exciting again,
it will force you to think.
I am currently exploring whether I will re-write and strip RunUO to achieve this or re-invent the
wheel to use the 1.25. client that I started Ultima Online with. I'm leaning towards the later as
the newer clients cannot represent the game style that existed back then.

:: Who am I?
Let's see started in the beginning on the shard of Catskills, moved to Baja, then to Siege
Perilous, then to Lake Austin, now back to Catskills.
I was Counselor Khalil of Lake Superior prior to, during and after Beta-Testing UO: The Second
Age. After the T2A upgrade the counselors were moved into a pool of servers that we did support
for. I was moved to the west coast pool of: Baja, Napa, Sonoma, etc... I left the Counselor
program prior to the axe falling on the program.
Yes, I still have all 16 of my various CD's from the beginning. I even found the Pre-Alpha CD
online someplace, not sure where I picked it up at.
You may have seen me as a slacker in UOX and RunUO IRC channels. Yes, I had run in's with
many dev's of the various projects. Like me, love me, hate me or ignore me, no worries...
But, If your interested in helping with my retro server, then drop me a line.
I'm always looking for old source, binaries or exe's of any of the old UO EMU's, tools, patches,
clients and documents for archiving. This area will be opened to the public when I have enough
to be respectable.
